Jon Marshall, who had previously been a partner with a medium-size firm of Chartered Accountants in the City for over 25 years, set up JM Associates in May 2000. He has a wealth of experience in dealing with all aspects of the affairs of small and medium-size businesses, usually adopting a 'hands on' approach to assist their growth and profitability.

He is ably assisted by Monroe Palmer OBE, who has been associated with Jon all of his practice life. Monroe was Treasurer of what was then the Liberal Party for five years, and received an honour for that function. As well as assisting Jon, he is now a local councillor in Barnet, where he lives.

Jon also brought with him his account manager, Tilak Palit, and his tax manager, Husein Karsan, both of whom have been with Jon for over ten years. They have been in the profession for over 25 years. Jon's partner, Annabel Fried is also around to deal with the client administration.

JM Associates deals with varied clientèle, both in size and industry. However, conscious of the good things in life, we have developed a speciality in dealing with restaurateurs and the entertainment industry. The firm also acts for many other clients from furniture manufacturers to dry cleaners, and from stationery suppliers to antique dealers.

Living in the Paddington area, Jon has set out to help regenerate it, and currently runs a financial 'clinic' at the Portobello Business Centre, and is on the loan approval committee. These services are given free of charge, to enable embryonic businesses to flourish and grow.
